The Kootenai County Board of County Commissioners on March 13 granted the applicant for MSP24-3, Poplar Estates at English Pointe, a request for a public hearing and set it to a date uncertain after the hearing examiner recommended denial.
Vlad Finkel of Kootenai County Community Development told the board the applicant requested a hearing because the hearing examiner had recommended denial and the applicant believes there are unresolved matters to present. Finkel said the applicant was working with jurisdictional agencies and preferred a June date, possibly June 12, but might request additional delay depending on outcomes of other hearings.
Commissioners said they were inclined to grant due process and set the matter for a date uncertain so the applicant could resolve outstanding jurisdictional issues. A motion to grant the request for a public hearing to a date uncertain was made and seconded and the board recorded aye votes from Commissioner Eberline, Commissioner Duncan and Chair Matari.
The board did not set a specific date at the meeting; staff will return the item once the applicant confirms timing and outstanding agency coordination.
