The final layout incorporates community feedback from an earlier public meeting and includes a 41‑foot length bowl with a 6‑foot deep side and a 4‑foot deep side, multiple ledges and street features, rails, stairs with a secondary exit and an entry feature incorporating the state shape. Parks staff said the design combines features preferred by users and local subject‑matter experts.
The Southeast Idaho Skate Park Association and family donors are contributing about $25,000 as a memorial to a late community member; Parks staff said that contribution will fund specific elements (stairs, a secondary access and a distinctive quarter‑pipe feature). The department said construction should begin soon and estimated a 90‑day build, with a public groundbreaking scheduled for March 21 at noon and a planned summer opening contingent on weather.
Parks staff said they will issue a press release and bring a donation request to a council meeting; the city indicated it may finish landscaping after opening if that approach accelerates public use. No formal council vote was requested during the informational presentation.
