Supervisors call for hearing to review city language access implementation

Walton said the language access ordinance amendments passed the prior year were the product of community collaboration and that the hearing would provide an opportunity to review progress, ensure commitments are being met and hear directly from community members about their experiences accessing city services in languages other than English.
Walton said San Francisco's linguistic diversity requires accessible services across multiple languages and that the board should use the hearing to track implementation and compliance. The motion was submitted for consideration; the transcript does not show a final vote on scheduling a hearing that day.
