Assemblymember Chen presented the resolution and said land surveyors “have a uniquely important role in the development of our state” and noted the profession’s contribution across California’s varied geography. Chen asked members to join in commemoration of the profession’s contributions and noted the Assembly formally honors “over 4,000 professionals, land surveyors in the state of California.”
The clerk opened a roll for coauthors; members added 63 coauthors without objection. The Assembly then took a voice vote, which the presiding officer recorded as adopted. Chen introduced guests from the California Land Surveyors Association in the gallery, including the association president, Joseph Padilla, who was recognized by the Assembly.
The resolution was adopted on the floor; the Assembly welcomed association representatives to the chamber.
