Assemblymember Alan Nees introduced AB 387, arguing that probation officers "serve as the arm of the courts" and that summoning them for jury service would "pull[] them away from their duties" to supervise probationers. "If any member of law enforcement community should be exempt, it should be probation officers," Nees said. The clerk recorded a final tally of I 64, no 0 and the Assembly announced the measure passes.
Assemblymember Chen presented ACR 47 to mark March as National Surveyors Week and asked colleagues to honor "the contributions of over 4,000 professionals, land surveyors, in the state of California." The Assembly added 63 coauthors without objection and adopted the resolution by a voice vote.
The Assembly also moved and adopted the second‑day consent calendar and multiple resolutions by unanimous tallies (Ayes 68, Noes 0). After these actions the House stood adjourned until March 17, 2025, at 1 p.m.
