Macomb County commissioners approved a budget amendment to accept $245,000 from the Michigan Strategic Fund’s Industry Forward initiative to support efforts to put new technology into local manufacturers’ hands.
At committee, Planning and Economic Development staff (identified in the meeting as Vicky) said the amendment adds $245,000 to the county’s planning and economic development budget to support the Industry Forward initiative. Vicky described the funding as an additional allocation to help county efforts to introduce new technology to manufacturers.
There was no public opposition recorded during the committee discussion. The committee chair called for the vote and the motion passed unanimously in committee.
The committee recommended the budget amendment to the full board; staff noted the funds were being added to the county budget and would be administered through the department’s existing grant and program structures.
