The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Commission on March 11 approved the minutes of its Feb. 11 meeting and deferred a decision on the Feb. 25 minutes because not enough commissioners who attended that special meeting were present to ratify those minutes.
Commissioners said the Feb. 25 minutes could be delayed until more members who participated in that meeting were available to review and adopt them. The commission then voted to approve the Feb. 11 minutes.
The deferral was raised at the start of the March 11 meeting when a commissioner noted there might be “an issue with voting on the 20 fifth meeting because 2 of us are here,” and the chair advised delaying the Feb. 25 minutes. A motion to approve the Feb. 11 minutes was made and seconded, and the chair called the question; those present voted in favor.
The commission did not record individual roll-call votes in the meeting minutes for the Feb. 11 approval; the record shows the motion carried with the commissioners present voting “aye.” The minutes for Feb. 25 will be brought back when a sufficient number of commissioners who attended that meeting can consider and adopt them.
No other formal actions were taken on the minutes at the March 11 meeting.
