Pflugerville library director outlines state bills that could limit collections and restrict ALA funding

At the March 12 meeting of the Pflugerville Public Library Board, the library director gave a legislative update, saying multiple bills filed in the Texas Legislature could affect public and school libraries.

The director told the board she is tracking priority measures identified by the lieutenant governor and the Texas Library Association and named several bills by number. She said Senate Bill 13 ("SB 13") would target school districts' library materials catalogs and create local school library advisory councils with parental rights over access to materials.
