Commission staff announced the selection of Josh Goldman as program manager; Goldman is expected to begin orientation on the upcoming Monday. Staff described Goldman as someone with prior relevant experience dating back to 2018 and engagement with credentialing panels and field standards.
Members said improved communication and public posting of agendas and meeting schedules would help departments and training chiefs follow progress; staff explained that broadcasting meetings and providing ways for crews to ask questions remotely could reduce ad hoc phone calls to individual commissioners.
Commissioners also discussed how batch processing of certification payments and the timing of payment batches affect instructors and trainees. Staff said they can provide status updates to departments so recruits and instructors can track payment and processing status.
