Cookeville, Tenn. — The Executive Committee moved forward the university’s annual performance‑review work for the president, appointing Vice Chair Redonna Rose as the executive committee’s representative for the process and approving a completion timeline and assessment questionnaires.
Chair Harper said the executive committee is responsible for organizing the annual review and that, in practice, the vice chair traditionally serves as the committee’s representative for the task. Vice Chair Rose accepted the appointment.
The committee approved a schedule that sets completion of the review by the board’s September 25 meeting. Committee members also approved the board assessment questionnaire and the cabinet assessment questionnaire, documents administrators said were derived from the president’s FY25 goals and were included in the board book.
Board members were urged to complete the questionnaires on schedule. “Please complete the questionnaires. Please be thoughtful about those and offer whatever comments you might want to offer,” the committee chair said, emphasizing the trustees’ oversight role.
Why it matters: The president’s annual performance review is a core governance responsibility of the board. The representative role and planned schedule set the timeline for collecting trustee input and for any follow‑up with staff or the president.
