State audit results
Doctor Stinson reported that the FY24 state audit yielded an unmodified opinion and produced no findings for the university or its foundation component unit. Trustees were given a link to the full audit report on the state auditor’s website.
Internal audit charter and activity report
Amy Willegas, director of internal audit, presented the department’s annual activity metrics (January–December 2024) and the updated internal audit charter. Willegas told the committee the charter was revised to align with Institute of Internal Auditors standards and to add required statutory references and reporting language; the committee voted to forward the charter to the full board for approval.
Hooper Eblom Center sound system (disclosed project)
Trustees also approved sending a disclosed capital project to the board: a proposed $2,600,000 replacement of the basketball arena’s sound system, including new acoustic ceiling and wall treatments and related work. Stinson said the project will follow state procurement requirements for a project of this size and include external sound‑design expertise.
