Airport grant update: five active grants and several FAA awards pending

Kathy Brown, airport capital budget and grants manager, briefed the commission that the airport currently has five active grants totaling $61,800,000 and has drawn $22,200,000 to date. Brown said $39,600,000 remained to be drawn against the active grants.
Brown said one grant — referenced as “grama 75” for the atrium infill — is in pre-construction and will begin drawing once construction starts. She said four pending grants are with the FAA awaiting an announcement template from Washington; those four sum to about $57,000,000 on the pending slide.
On the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) programming, Brown summarized multi-year activity: “Weve gone through the 4 of the 5 years that are part of this BIL program. So, to date, weve been earmarked for $76,000,000 ATP announced weve been given 87,700,000.0 and the awarded amount is the 55.5 Once they actually obligate that 33.2 that you saw on the pending page, that 55.5 will go up,” Brown said. Brown said staff are tracking the FAA queue and will report back when the FAA posts official obligation notices so the airport can obligate and draw the funds. Commissioners thanked staff for providing the visual grant-tracking slide.
