House introduces multiple bills, reads joint resolutions and adopts two concurrent resolutions

On March 14 the House gave first readings to a packet of bills (H.462–H.472), read two joint senate resolutions, and adopted two house concurrent resolutions recognizing Park and Recreation Month and National Senior Nutrition Program Month.
At the start of the March 14 floor session the Vermont House gave first readings to a series of bills and placed them with the appropriate committees.
Clerk and members read titles for House bills H.462 through H.472, covering topics including just‑cause eviction in Burlington (H.462), technical corrections (H.463), multiple flood‑response measures (H.464–H.470), transfer of state property in Waterbury (H.471), and professions regulated by the Office of Professional Regulation (H.472). Each bill was referred to the committee noted on the calendar (for example, the committee on Government Operations and Military Affairs, Transportation, Environment, General and Housing, Corrections and Institutions, or Ways and Means where a fiscal referral was required).
The House also took up Joint Senate Resolutions JRS 16 and JRS 17. JRS 16 provides for a joint assembly to vote on the retention of seven superior court judges and one magistrate; it was placed on the calendar for action on the next legislative day. JRS 17, relating to weekend adjournment on March 14, 2025, was adopted in concurrence; the resolution sets the reconvening date no later than March 18, 2025.
On the consent calendar the House read and adopted two House Concurrent Resolutions. HCR 44 recognizes July 2025 as Park and Recreation Month and designates July 18, 2025 as Vermont Park and Recreation Professionals Day, directing the secretary of state to send a copy to the Vermont Recreation and Parks Association. HCR 47 recognizes March 2025 as National Senior Nutrition Program Month in Vermont and directs the secretary of state to send copies to state agencies and provider associations.
Separately on the floor, members moved committee reassignments for particular bills: the member from Brattleboro moved and the House agreed to relieve the Committee on Ways and Means of H.420 (tax increment financing for flood‑impacted communities) and commit it to the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development. Likewise, the member from South Burlington moved and the House agreed to relieve the Committee on Judiciary of H.342 (protecting personal information of certain public servants) and commit it to Commerce and Economic Development.
