At its March 11, 2025 meeting the Heath City Council voted unanimously to approve prior meeting minutes, to nominate a representative to the Rockwall Central Appraisal District board, and to adopt a resolution urging TxDOT to study and install a traffic signal at FM 550 and Rabbit Ridge.
The Heath City Council took the following formal actions on March 11, 2025.
• Minutes (Consent agenda) — Action: Approved the minutes of the Feb. 25, 2025 regular meeting. Motion was made and seconded; the council approved the minutes by voice vote and recorded the vote as unanimous.
• Rockwall Central Appraisal District (RCAD) board nomination — Action: Council approved a resolution nominating Joe Ruskovic for Place 8 on the Rockwall Central Appraisal District board of directors. Staff said Ruskovic serves on Heath’s Planning & Zoning Commission and that he had indicated willingness to serve. The council approved the nomination by voice vote, recorded as unanimous.
• TxDOT warrant-study and signal resolution (FM 550/McDonald & Rabbit Ridge) — Action: Council approved a resolution urging the Texas Department of Transportation to perform a warrant study and to install a traffic signal at FM 550 (McDonald Road) and Rabbit Ridge Road. The resolution cites 11 accidents at the intersection between Jan. 1, 2022 and March 7, 2025, eight of which were classified as major. The council approved the resolution by voice vote, recorded as unanimous. No city funding commitment for construction was approved at the meeting.
