City staff announced that Lake Elsinore has received nearly $5 million in grant funding for road-safety improvements. The package includes two awarded projects: Railroad Canyon Road improvements — involving utility pole relocation and guardrail installation — and a citywide program of intersection upgrades affecting 30 intersections to improve pedestrian safety, crosswalks and related features.
Council members said the grant totals just under $5,000,000; the city described the funding as intended to enhance safety and make specific roadway and intersection upgrades. Separately, staff reported that North Shore neighborhoods (areas off Lake Street behind Terracotta Middle and near Rice Canyon Elementary) are scheduled for pavement overlay as part of the city27s pavement management program. Residents will receive 72-hour notices and a mailed letter; staff cautioned schedules may shift due to weather.
Council members asked residents to watch for posted signs and web updates and provided the city27s project webpage for additional details.
