Johnson told the committee he has lived in Tulsa for roughly 16 of the last 20 years and described his interest in supporting TPAC during a capital campaign. Reading prepared remarks, he quoted TPAC's mission: "The mission of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center is to facilitate and deliver performing arts experiences to entertain, inspire, and empower our community." He said his finance background and previous board service with the Tulsa Ballet equip him "to contribute meaningfully to this board of trustees."
Committee members welcomed Johnson's finance experience and noted the value of East Side representation on TPAC's board; members said such experience is useful as the center plans renovation and expansion projects downtown. The committee recorded the nomination and noted the full council will take the final vote March 26. No committee-level confirmation occurred at the meeting.
