Town councilor asks Southbridge School Committee about district policy for ICE presence at schools

"Maybe reviewing the policy," she said, would be of interest to residents.
Chairman Murch invited public comment and several committee members said the district would respond through appropriate channels; the meeting record shows no substantive policy update or specific account of ICE visits during the session. Committee leadership encouraged residents and elected officials to use the district's "contact us" form for questions and said staff would respond in a timely fashion.
The committee added the public-input item by a motion to suspend the rules; no further action or policy change was taken that evening. Members suggested that individual town-councilors seeking specific answers should reach out to the district or to the town council's own process for queries and that the superintendent's office would handle follow-up as needed.
