On March 11, 2025, the Livingston City Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved a design-review application for painted storefront lettering for Cactus the Awesome Collective at 2011 West Calendar Street.
The approval came during the commission's regular meeting after staff described the application as straightforward. Jennifer, the commission’s designated historic preservation officer, told commissioners the proposed lettering would be painted directly on the facade above the door, approximately 5–6 inches tall and about 9 feet long, using flat black paint. "This is one of the more straightforward ones I think that's ever come in front of us," Jennifer said during the review.
Commissioner Wendy Gibson moved to approve the proposed lettering; Commissioner Kristen seconded the motion. The commission voted unanimously to approve the application; the clerk recorded the outcome as "motion passes unanimously." No conditions or amendments were recorded during the motion.
Chair LouRacki was excused from the March 11 meeting. The commission did not add further restrictions on materials or lighting during the approval, and staff indicated the painting would proceed under the approved design as presented.
