Rules Committee reappoints two incumbents, appoints two new directors to Golden Gate Bridge District

The Rules Committee on Feb. 10 voted unanimously to recommend four mayoral nominations for seats on the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District Board of Directors.
Chair Walton moved to reappoint Sabrina Hernandez to Seat 1 and Bert Hill to Seat 2, and to appoint Liam Devlin to Seat 3 and Gregory Michael Hardeman to Seat 4. The committee recorded aye votes from Vice Chair Sherrill, Member Mandelmann and Chair Walton, and the motion passed without objection.
All four nominees addressed the committee before the vote. Bert Hill said he has chaired the Bicycle Advisory Committee for two decades and emphasized work on cycling safety and recovery of transit revenues after the COVID pandemic. Greg Hardeman described a career in elevator construction and union leadership and said he would prioritize interagency coordination and safe, reliable transit. Liam Devlin, who runs apprenticeship and training programs, described experience in construction, budgeting and community outreach. Sabrina Hernandez, a business representative with IBEW Local 6 and a long-serving member of the Golden Gate Bridge District board, highlighted her involvement on committees including equal employment opportunity and the suicide deterrent system project.
Public comment supported the slate. Lorna Chang Hill, spouse of Bert Hill, spoke in favor of his reappointment. Rudy Gonzalez of the San Francisco Building and Construction Trades Council said he supported all four nominees and praised the mix of experience and new energy. Other speakers, including Lyle Beckman, praised Bert Hill's leadership.
The committee forwarded the nominations to the full board for final confirmation.
