Rules Committee continues proposed Form 700 changes to chair after additional meet-and-confer work

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee on Feb. 10 unanimously voted to continue consideration of an ordinance to amend the Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code to update Form 700 filing requirements.

The committee’s chair, Supervisor Walton, called the item, describing it as “the ordinance ... to update the conflict of interest code, form 700 filing requirements by adding, deleting, and changing titles of certain designated officials and employees to reflect organization and staffing changes, and by refining disclosure requirements for certain designated officials and employees.” President Mandelmann told the committee “there's a little more meet and confer work to do,” and asked to continue the matter to the call of the chair.

Supervisor Mandelmann moved to continue the item to the call of the chair. No members of the public registered to speak on the item. The committee then recorded unanimous aye votes — Vice Chair Sherrill, Member Mandelmann and Chair Walton — and the motion carried without objection.

The clerk noted items acted upon at this meeting are expected to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda of Feb. 25, 2025, unless otherwise stated. No additional timeline or revised ordinance text was provided at the Rules Committee meeting.

The continuation leaves the proposed changes to Form 700 and any related disclosure refinements unresolved pending further discussions between staff, stakeholders and supervisors.
