Board of Zoning Appeals reviews training requirements, combined city/county zoning code and upcoming impact fee vote

At a Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, members discussed a planned consolidation of the county and city zoning ordinances, annual training for board members, sign regulations including electronic billboards, and an upcoming proposal to raise impact fees that has been presented to the county commission.

The consolidation of the city and county codes is underway and staff told members the combined document should be available within about three to four months, after the county commission reviews and votes on the changes. Rosalie, a zoning office staff member, said the office will provide digital copies on the county website and can print paper copies on request.
