Saline students Grace Roth and Hunter Easton honored as MHSA scholar‑athlete finalists

Superintendent Lodge and the Saline Area Schools board recognized Grace Roth and Hunter Easton at the Feb. 11 meeting as two of 120 statewide finalists for the 2024–25 MHSA Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar‑Athlete Awards.
Grace Roth told the board she ran cross country and ran track, played basketball and participated in band and other student organizations. She said she has a 3.5 GPA or higher and plans to major in data science and statistics. Hunter Easton said he is a varsity baseball catcher, serves as class treasurer, participates in leadership on athlete mental health, and is involved in student government. Both students described how coaches and teachers supported their ability to balance sports and academics.
Board members praised the students’ contributions to school life. The board took photographs with the honorees and their families following the recognition.
