Kentucky State Police brief committee on federal increase to hazardous‑materials endorsement security fee

Boggs said the fee was increased by the federal Transportation Security Administration and that the Kentucky State Police are required to collect the higher amount. “This fee was increased by the Federal Transportation Safety Administration and KSP is required to collect it,” Boggs said. The committee was told the increase amounts to $23.25 per applicant and that the current action follows an earlier emergency regulation.
Committee members had no questions that required action; the presenters noted no additional changes beyond the fee increase. The committee did not need to vote on the ordinary regulation at the meeting but received the informational briefing.
