Carson City School District announces Gina Hoppe as new principal at Eagle Valley Middle School

Superintendent Fealing introduced Gina Hoppe to trustees and attendees as the district’s selected principal for Eagle Valley Middle School.

Hoppe accepted the appointment during the meeting and thanked trustees and district leaders for the opportunity. “I am truly honored to accept this position as principal of Eagle Valley Middle School,” Hoppe said. She described the selection as “a little bittersweet” because she had served at her current school for roughly two decades and called colleagues there “family.” Hoppe thanked mentors identified in the meeting, including Mr. Brown and Dr. Connolly, and said she looked forward to working with Eagle Valley staff and the district.

Trustees congratulated Hoppe; Trustee Peterson and Trustee Walker both praised her work at her current site and expressed confidence in her leadership. Trustee Peterson noted that the district would miss current leadership at Fritch (as referenced in the meeting) and welcomed Hoppe to Eagle Valley.

Hoppe said she had spoken with Lee Connolly earlier in the day, who could not attend because of travel. The district did not state a formal transition date in the meeting; no board vote was recorded on the minutes presented during the public session. Staff said they will coordinate personnel and parent notifications and announce any transition timeline through district communications.
