Commission awards Big Water Main Street feasibility study to Destination Development

Kane County commissioners unanimously approved a bid award on March 11 to deliver a Main Street feasibility study for the town of Big Water, selecting Destination Development, led by Roger Brooks.
Economic development director Kelly Stowell told the commission the county received a $50,000 grant from the Utah Office of Tourism for the study and has received 75% of the grant funds so far. Four firms responded to the county's request for proposals; Destination Development was chosen following the RFP evaluation.
Big Water Mayor Dave Schmucker said the town lacks a central main street and that a feasibility study could identify straightforward, low-cost design and signage improvements to make local businesses more visible to passing motorists. He said the project is intended as a first step toward attracting implementation funding.
Commissioners formally moved to accept the bid award to Destination Development with Roger Brooks; the motion passed unanimously.
