Middletown board unanimously approves contract extensions, construction change and high school interior alterations

The Enlarged City School District of Middletown Board of Education unanimously approved a slate of personnel, financial and construction actions at its Thursday, June 5, 2025 meeting, including a two‑year extension of the superintendent’s contract and authorization for interior alterations at Middletown High School to expand the At Promise Micro School program.

The board voted 9–0 to extend Superintendent Amy Creedon’s contract by two years and to extend the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, Camille LeDoux, by one year. The board also approved an extension for the director of personnel, Jillian Crawford. Board members approved personnel memoranda covering instructional and noninstructional hires and changes, financial memoranda, and other routine items by unanimous vote.

Board members also approved a change order (17F, no. 1) that replaces a proposed vinyl fence with an aluminum fence and increases the specified concrete slab thickness, and they approved interior alterations at Middletown High School to accommodate an expanded At Promise Micro School during the 2025–26 school year. The high‑school alterations were described to the board by a district representative as construction work to facilitate operations of the expanded program.

What the high‑school work will do: School staff told the board the interior alterations will allow the At Promise Micro School — a program run by district administrators and currently led by Dr. Pat Woods — to expand during the regular school day in 2025–26. The district said the work is intended to facilitate operations of the expanded program; specific construction scope beyond the fence and slab change order was described at a high level in the meeting and will be reflected in project documents.

Next steps and oversight: The board’s approvals allow procurement and contract work to proceed under the terms presented at the meeting. The district indicated it will provide additional updates on the high‑school project and the At Promise Micro School as those plans progress.
