Commission approves sanitary sewer easement for Lift Station 125 to correct underground conflict

City of North Port commissioners on June 10 unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-R-39 to accept a nonexclusive sanitary sewer and access easement tied to Lift Station Number 125.
Staff explained the original plat recorded 30-foot-wide utility easements where underground infrastructure was intended. Unforeseen underground conflicts required the sanitary sewer pipe to be constructed outside the platted easement area. The additional easement grants the city access necessary for operation and maintenance of the relocated sanitary sewer pipe. Staff described the action as a geographic/logistical adjustment involving coordination with the adjacent development (West Villages) and said approval was necessary to ensure continued operation and maintenance of the sewer facilities.
There was no public opposition and no substantive discussion among commissioners. Motion to adopt Resolution 2025-R-39 passed 5-0.
