The planner’s list, council members said, typically includes water, sewer and stormwater improvements and is used to prioritize projects the city cannot afford in the general operating budget.
The city’s project coordinator said she would coordinate with Abby (a planner currently on leave) when Abby returns, and prepare a formal certification of selected projects to submit to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development on behalf of the City of Lock Haven. The certification will be presented for council approval at the July 7 meeting.
Council members emphasized balancing the formal applications with planned street, paving and stormwater improvements that the planner has identified as priorities. Staff noted last year’s CDBG funds are being used for stormwater improvements and paving on portions of Spriggard Street and Stone Alley and that available funds shape which projects can be selected.
No formal vote on project selection occurred at the June 16 meeting; the council directed staff to return a formal certification for action at the next meeting.
