District leadership presented proposed updates to the district strategic plan measures and a data dashboard that staff said reflect renormed baselines following disruptions from the COVID‑era testing landscape.
Administrators described a process of reviewing baseline data, consulting building leadership teams and DLT and recommended attainable yet ambitious goals across state assessments, FastBridge measures, graduation rates (target: 95% or higher), social‑emotional learning (Capturing Kids’ Hearts benchmarks), discipline metrics (in‑school and out‑of‑school suspensions), climate survey completion rates, parent engagement measures, ParentSquare usage and staffing fill rates.
Board members raised several technical questions and requested alignment: one trustee asked for disciplinary metrics to be reported without disaggregating to the point of identifying students; another asked for the student handbook discipline language to align with the policy’s violation consequences. Trustees also discussed how to measure parent engagement at the high school level (PowerSchool logins vs. conference attendance) and suggested pilot options such as requiring an adult at advisory presentations. Administrators said they will refine measures and present the item for reading in July with more detail on secondary math implementation and calibration of walkthrough measures.
The board did not vote; the item was a reading and will return in July for further consideration.
