Providence planning commission recommends R16 rezoning for Timberbrook Homes parcel

The Providence Planning Commission on June 11 voted to recommend that the City Council rezone Parcel 02096‑0048 (near 314 West 100 South) from AGR (agricultural) to R‑16 (single‑family residential with a 6,000‑square‑foot minimum lot size).

Scarlett, a city planner, said the commission is a recommending body and reminded the public that the City Council makes the final decision. “They’re requesting to change this zone from agriculture to R 16, and R 16 stands for residential, a single family, so 1 single family unit on the lot, and a minimum lot size of 6,000 square feet,” Scarlett said. She described the requirement that the commission consider the general plan and the Providence City moderate income housing plan and noted the staff report lists related Providence City code and Utah statute references.
