Parks staff and members of Lake Park Friends said volunteers and professionals completed an initial right-of-entry restoration last summer at no cost to the county; the new agreement formalizes a 10-year maintenance arrangement with automatic five-year renewals by mutual agreement. County staff said the friends group and adjacent residents will fully fund the ongoing maintenance activities and that Parks will retain authority to approve contractor work and protect mature trees.
The committee voted to approve the agreement by unanimous voice vote. Presenters said the arrangement reduces county maintenance demands while preserving park natural areas and that costs will be borne by Lake Park Friends, with Parks providing permitting and design oversight as needed.
