Votes recorded: For each of the permit votes taken on the regular agenda the commission recorded aye votes from President Blyman, Vice President Wong, Commissioner Davis, Commissioner Poggio and Commissioner Schlander where present; motions carried and staff instructed applicants to follow up with permit-implementation steps.
Inspector reports and enforcement items: Senior inspectors reported recent enforcement activity and complaints. Staff said Savoy Tivoli (1434 Grant Street) had recent 311 sound complaints; inspectors measured sound on May 10 at 88.4 dBA and 96 dBC while the approved limits are 84 dBA and 93 dBC, and staff worked with on-site personnel to bring levels into compliance. Staff also reported inspections at Club 26 Mix (3024 Mission Street) after a May 8 complaint; inspectors observed shortcomings in security checks and staffing and issued a Notice of Violation on May 14, 2025. Staff reported that the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) held a hearing May 9 and that a revocation filing was submitted May 15; staff said there is a 30‑day hold and the license could lapse after June 15 if the revocation is upheld.
What commissioners asked for: Commissioners asked applicants to provide timely, direct contact information for neighbors, and staff reminded operators that real‑time complaint response and neighbor outreach are key parts of the commission’s good‑neighbor expectations. Several commissioners encouraged applicants to test stage orientations and sound abatement solutions before larger events.
