The Board of Zoning Appeals approved a 396-square-foot detached accessory structure at 758 Sunnybrook Court (Veil Estates, Section 4, Lot 35) at the May 19 meeting.
Allison, planning staff, said Lisonbee Home Services requested approval for a wood accessory structure painted to match trim accents of the existing house; the primary house is mainly brick. The proposed structure will have a shingle roof and an approximate height of 16.5 feet. Staff recommended approval with four standard conditions and noted no correspondence had been received regarding this application.
Nathan Mabry, contractor for the project, told the board crews had removed an older gable gazebo at the site because it was rotted and dangerous and that work started prematurely: "It was rotted and dangerous, so we took that down. We have started this early, should have, but we jumped the gun on that." Mabry said an engineer's letter had been provided confirming footings for the fireplace. No public comment was offered.
A motion to approve was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The project is subject to the usual staff conditions and the required as-built survey prior to final inspection.
