Applicant Tom Martucci and staff discussed lead-time issues and that two reasons were given for the substitution: manufacturing lead time and an assertion that the Andersen units were not available or that an equivalent substitute could be used. The applicant said Sturges windows were manufactured to the same size schedule as the Andersen windows and that the external simulated muntins ("simulated true divided light") would be installed as required.
A commissioner asked whether the windows met egress requirements; staff noted the windows were sized per the original schedule and that required building permits and sprinklers influence egress needs (applicant noted sprinklers previously discussed). The commission moved and seconded a motion approving Sturges windows as the substitute product; commissioners voted in favor.
Staff will include the final window drawings in the file for the record and noted that Blue Dory and Salt Pond Settlement window replacements had been administratively approved in related administrative actions.
