Millbrae council adopts commission work plans, clears consent items and approves minutes

The council adopted the Senior Advisory Committee work plan for fiscal years 2025–2027. Committee chair Rochelle (Rochelle Mullen) reviewed the committee’s activities over the prior year (senior luncheons, the bimonthly Senior Line, age‑friendly planning and outreach) and described tasks for the next two years, including continuing the Age Friendly Action Plan and bilingual outreach. The Parks and Recreation Commission presented its FY25–27 work plan and a summary of recent accomplishments, including full commission membership since September 2023, the Marina Vista Park renovation grand opening and participation in active‑transportation grant applications. The commission’s goals include review of capital improvements, consideration of off‑leash dog areas, lighting on Central Park pathways, shade for baseball dugouts, and pickleball/tennis court management. Council adopted the Parks and Recreation Commission work plan by motion, 5‑0.
Councilmembers encouraged continued public outreach on the downtown community benefit district walking tour scheduled for March 26, and thanked commission members and volunteers for their work. The council’s unanimous votes completed the routine approvals for the evening.
