Council approves consent calendar; announces community meetings and presents proclamations

The Twentynine Palms City Council approved the consent calendar by a 5–0 vote at its March 11 meeting and heard a number of routine announcements, proclamations and community updates.

A motion to adopt the consent calendar was moved and seconded and the roll call vote recorded Council Member Scott, Council Member Ramirez, Council Member Wright, Mayor Pro Tem Mintz and Mayor Bilderink voting "aye;" the motion passed 5–0. The agenda did not include items removed for separate consideration.

During presentations and proclamations the council recognized the 29 Palms High School girls basketball and softball teams with Cash for Trash awards of $300 from local sponsors for youth litter pickup activities. The city presented proclamations recognizing March 2025 as Irish American Heritage Month and March 2025 as Women's History Month. Recipients briefly addressed the council after the proclamations.

City Manager Stone announced a follow-up meeting of the ministerial association and community service groups on March 24 at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall to coordinate disaster preparedness and recovery support among faith and service organizations.

The council announced it would adjourn into a closed session following the open meeting to discuss personnel and other matters listed on the meeting agenda.
