Board advances personnel and policy items to March 25; receiver appoints Jamie Johnson to CAIU board and approves abandonment resolution

The Office of Human Resources presented a long personnel agenda at the March 11 Committee of the Whole meeting; the board moved those personnel items forward for approval at the March 25 meeting. Items included new appointments, resignations, retirements, FMLA notices, unpaid leaves, mentor stipends and other routine human-resources actions.
During the meeting the receiver approved a resolution of abandonment of employment for employee number 17566 effective March 3, 2025, and said the approval was effective immediately. “I hereby approve the resolution of abandonment of employment for employee number 17566 effective 03/03/2025, and I approve that effective immediately,” the receiver said.
In business services, administrators presented the treasurer’s report for January, showing bank balances read into the record, and recommended approval of the Capital Area Intermediate Unit operating budget for 2025–26 in the amount of $8,378,551, a 4.54% increase, with the district’s estimated contribution shown as $37,006.96 72 (as read). The board also received a parameters resolution related to possible future debt refundings (as presented by Raymond James at a prior meeting). The board moved the business-services items to the March 25 agenda for approval.
Finally, the receiver appointed Jamie Johnson to serve on the Capital Area Intermediate Unit board from July 1, 2025, until the IU reorganization meeting; the appointment is contingent on reelection to the Harrisburg School District board in November 2025, as noted in the public record.
