Board advances generator maintenance, security bollards and tech adjustments to consent; approves corrected $170 VMware service fee

The district presented several operations, facilities and technology items at the March 11 Committee of the Whole meeting and moved most to the March 25 consent agenda while approving one corrected vendor fee immediately.
Operations staff recommended a one-year service agreement with Cleveland Brothers Equipment Company for annual inspections and preventive maintenance on district generators for $16,352 to be paid from the general fund. The facilities team also presented a proposal from The Gordian Group for 34 protective bollards at district buildings, a project paid in full through a Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) safety and mental-health security grant; the quoted total was $235,843.92.
Technology items included a statement of work with PowerSchool for professional services to upgrade the district’s eFinance Plus software from version 22.4 to 23.1 for $10,800, and a no-cost transfer of Mitel phone-system support from Ronco (formerly Sage Technology) to Visual Sound for the final year of the district’s existing phone agreement. Board members asked clarifying questions about bollards and warranty coverage for newer generators; staff said new generators carry one-year warranties but still require maintenance during that period.
The board approved an immediate corrected charge of $170 to the previously discussed VMware renewal agreement; administrators said the $170 represented an additional service fee that had not been included in the month’s earlier motion. Other operations and technology items were moved to the March 25 consent agenda for formal approval.
