Reedy noted the app lets parents receive alerts and, if integrated with bus GPS data, could display bus approach times and drop-off confirmations. “This specific GPS requires an additional license. So we're currently evaluating that, and we hope to bring that to you soon,” Reedy said.
Board members asked operational questions about how the app would support special-education vans, alert zones for approach timing, and whether transportation staff had been briefed. Reedy said the app supports alerts for special-education vans and that transportation will manage communications with parents once the system is live at each school. The board did not vote; the presentation outlined the rollout schedule and next steps for vendor evaluation on GPS licensing.
