Jackson City Council opened a public hearing Tuesday to receive citizen comment on the proposed sale of a city-owned parcel at the intersection of Calhoun and Jackson Street.
A resident, John C. King, asked for more detail about what the packet described and whether the city planned to sell the whole area up to the railroad. He also asked whether Jackson Community Ambulance would be purchasing the property.
City Manager Jonathan Green replied that the parcel is a smaller site across Calhoun from the old incubator building and currently contains a former car dealership building and an associated small parking lot. He said Jackson Community Ambulance is one of the adjacent property owners.
Council heard no other public comments and later closed the hearing by motion. No final sale vote for this specific parcel was recorded at the time of the public hearing record in the transcript; staff described the location and adjacent owners and the hearing record was closed.
