Hayden council approves consent calendar, four commission appointments, joins county hazard plan and schedules FY2026 budget hearing

The consent calendar as read included approval of the Feb. 25, 2025, city council meeting minutes; reappointment of Mary Howard to the Planning and Zoning Commission; an electronic recording services agreement with CSC; a contract for the Spokane Figure Skating Club (doing business as Lake City Figure Skating) for 2025 contractual services; approval of the Family Worship at the Park event permit and loudspeaker use request; Change Order No. 4C for the Ramsey Road gravity sewer and water main extension project; final pay application for the Hayden Meadows sidewalk; ratification of February payroll; and payment of bills.
Councilmembers then approved four appointments nominated by the mayor: Ray Verbruges (Veterans Commission); Helen Paris (Parks, Recreation and Community Forestry Commission); Dennis Parent (Parks, Recreation and Community Forestry Commission); and Adam Reed (Parks, Recreation and Community Forestry Commission). Each appointment was moved, seconded and approved by roll call with all council members voting yes.
The council also voted to authorize the mayor to sign a letter of intent for the City of Hayden to participate in Kootenai County’s All Hazard Mitigation Plan. The motion passed by roll call.
Finally the council approved a motion to set the fiscal year 2026 budget hearing in compliance with Idaho Code (citation referenced in the meeting transcript was not specified). The motion passed by roll call.
