Council amends FY2024–25 budget to cover public-works projects and city-hall ADA finish work

The Pleasant View City Council held a public hearing and then adopted Resolution 25-B on March 11 to amend the fiscal-year 2024–25 budget for public-works and facility projects.
Public works staff summarized the amendments. Key changes recorded in the staff presentation include: increase for a waterfront land purchase line by $203,700; a $332,850 reduction in a zone-1 transition line (from $832,000 to $500,000); moving a previously scheduled conservation plan forward with a $6,000 adjustment; an 800 West stormwater project increase from $219,000 to $425,000 (an increase of $206,000 is reflected in discussion but staff cited $135,000 in the packet as the increment); a $10,000 addition for a detention-pond gate repair; increasing the railroad crossing project from $600,000 to $700,000; increasing the 400 West storm-drain project from $706,000 to $1,000,000 (a $294,000 increase); and increasing the city-hall ADA completion line from $9,800 to $18,300 (an $8,500 increase).
Staff said some of the stormwater projects are eligible for impact-fee funding and that the railroad crossing work must meet railroad design requirements, which contributed to higher estimates. The city noted that the ADA work remained within the existing contract but required budget movement across fiscal years to pay final invoices.
No public speakers addressed the budget amendments at the hearing and the council approved the budget resolution on a roll-call vote.
