City staff updates: 1200 East remains on general plan; 700 North development agreement will return to planning commission

At the March 11 Linden City Planning Commission meeting the community development director provided brief updates on two planning matters: the 1200 East roadway and the 700 North master-plan/development agreement.
Staff reported the City Council elected to keep 1200 East on the general plan; staff said follow-up meetings will review design options to mitigate conflicts and consider moving the alignment north in portions. "They kept it on the general plan ... with the desire to maybe try to mitigate some of the conflicts," staff said, and the commission was told staff will meet this week with councilors and stakeholders to refine designs.
On the 700 North corridor, staff said the city received a draft development agreement the previous Friday that will go to the commission for review. Because the development agreement could require changes to zoning, the general plan and the 700 North master plan, staff said the proposal will be routed through the commission for formal review and recommendation. "The development agreement would come through you, because they're asking for some changes in zoning and stuff like that," staff told the commission.
No formal actions were taken; staff asked commissioners to prepare for review of the development agreement and related ordinance and general-plan amendments in upcoming meetings.
