Items moved to consent, hearing set: Council advances multiple routine actions

At the Committee of the Whole meeting the council moved multiple routine agenda items to the consent calendar and scheduled a public hearing on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) reprogramming.

Actions recorded during the meeting included votes to move the following items to the consent agenda: an amendment to the City lease for the property at 2 Pelham Road (lease name change and parking allocation request), a revised city tree-trimming code section, an amendment to handicapped parking rules, a North Avenue parking regulation adjustment, acceptance of multiple Climate Smart Communities and water-quality grant programs, a Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) rebate grant for four electric vehicles, and a resolution supporting state packaging-reduction and recycling legislation. The council also authorized a public hearing on the proposed CDBG reprogramming for April 8.

Several of those items were described by staff as technical or procedural: the 2 Pelham Road lease amendment would update the tenant27s name (from Patsy's to Kenny's on the Water) and designate 23 customer parking spaces in a new marina lot at the current citywide rate. The council placed those routine items on the consent agenda for a future meeting where they will be adopted together unless a council member pulls an item for separate discussion.

No roll-call tallies with individual yes/no counts were recorded on the public record for the consent moves; council members used voice votes and recorded "aye" for approval where indicated on the record.
