Dimple Dale Preservation schedules Earth Day cleanup and tree planting for April 26

A representative of the Dimple Dale Preservation community told the Sandy City Council on March 11 that the group will hold its ninth annual Earth Day cleanup and tree-planting event on Saturday, April 26.
Joyce Walker, speaking during the general citizen comment period, said the primary meeting location this year will be 2765 East Dimpledale Road (not the Wrangler Trailhead) because of parking issues at other staging areas. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon, she said.
Walker said the group has received donations of trees from Ivory Homes through Tree Utah and plans to plant 20 additional fruit trees at the historic Muir Paulson grounds, bringing the orchard total to 80 trees. She said the project has approval from Salt Lake County Parks and will support plans for an outdoor classroom.
Walker asked council members and the public to attend; she said hundreds of volunteers typically participate and that organizers will circulate more information by email and leave flyers with staff at City Hall.
The council did not take action on the announcement; members thanked the organizers and expressed appreciation for the volunteer event.
