Cooper City commission adopts ordinance to codify land‑use enforcement penalties

The Cooper City Commission on Monday approved Ordinance 25-08, an amendment to Chapter 21 of the city’s Unified Land Development Code that clarifies enforcement penalties and authorizes use of the code‑enforcement process under Chapter 162 of the Florida Statutes.

The ordinance, read into the record by city counsel, amends section 21‑6 and includes standard conflict, codification, severability and effective‑date language. The public hearing drew no speakers, and the commission voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance on first reading.

City Attorney read the ordinance text for the record and described it as a public hearing item for the commission’s consideration. After the reading, no members of the public sought to speak, the item was placed on the table for consideration, and the commission called the vote.
