Board recognizes teacher of the month, student council and state-champion middle school basketball team

The Lincoln County School Board opened its March 3 meeting with multiple recognitions. Principal Amy Clemens presented Charla Hurt as teacher of the month; the packet and remarks noted Hurt has taught in Lincoln County Schools for 25 years and covers multiple subjects at Lincoln County High School.
Blanche School’s student council participated in the meeting. Student leaders Tegan Parks, Luke Bayless and Josiah Beard led the pledge and an invocation and provided updates about upcoming student activities, including Read Across America dress-up days and a spring dance.
The board also honored a middle school boys basketball team for winning the state middle-school championship. Board members and school leaders praised the players’ performance, maturity and academic standing; several players and coaches were called forward to receive certificates. Coach Steven Bridal was thanked for his work; the remarks noted he was not in the meeting because he was at another regional athletic event.
Separately, the board presented a "Friend of 4-H" recognition and thanked central office staff for support; Dr. Heath accepted a plaque on behalf of the district.
The recognitions were ceremonial and required no board action beyond the presentation.
