The Planning and Zoning Commission of Taylor reelected its incumbent chair, Amy, and selected Donna Frazier as vice chair and Annette as secretary during officer elections held at the start of the meeting.
The commission opened with nominations and multiple competing motions. After separate votes for each office, Amy remained chair; Donna Frazier was elected vice chair; and Annette was elected secretary. The commission chair announced, “So I will remain the chair,” after the chair ballots were taken. Members confirmed the other officer results by voice vote, and the chair stated, “We have new officers.”
Nominations were made from the dais, and commissioners discussed procedure for electing officers, agreeing to vote for each office separately rather than moving a single omnibus nominations motion. The reorganization proceeded without further public debate.
The commission then moved on to its regular agenda.
The election follows the commission's standard annual reorganization practice for selecting a chair, vice chair and secretary.
