Queen Anne's County Commissioners approved multiple routine and programmatic items during their March 11 session, voting to authorize public works agreements, letters of support for heritage tourism projects, a college funding request and a statewide mutual-aid memorandum for fire and emergency services. Commissioners also appointed Renee Daniel to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Department of Public Works Director Alan Quimby presented four items the board approved. The county will execute the 2025 mosquito control agreement with the Maryland Department of Agriculture; Quimby said the program budget is $172,000 for 2025, the county is responsible for costs exceeding the state grant and collected user fees (estimated at $122,000), and the county will allocate up to $30,000 for the program under the agreement.…
