Asa Gray, Kootenai County elections manager, asked the board on March 11 for permission to continue using Rooms 1A and 1B as polling locations for the 2025 election dates of Tuesday, May 20 and Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Gray told commissioners the request requires the board to either move its business meeting to another space or change the meeting day and time for those election dates. Commissioner Leslie Duncan and other commissioners indicated they would move the meeting to Monday on both occasions so the elections office can use the space. “It sounds like you've got some direction then,” the presiding official said after the exchange.
No formal vote was recorded in the transcript; staff indicated they would proceed based on the informal direction to relocate the board meeting on those two dates.
Gray thanked the board and said he was bringing the request as far in advance as possible to allow planning.
